FEDERMACCHINE: 2022 very positive. In 2023 more contained growth for the italian capital goods industry

In 2022, the Italian capital goods industry recorded interesting increases for most economic indicators. Although the positive trend will continue with the new year, 2023 will be less bright. This is, in essence, what emerges from the surveys just carried out by the FEDERMACCHINE Statistics Group, the federation of companies manufacturing capital goods.

According to preliminary figures, in 2022, the turnover of the Italian industry grew to 54,106 million euros, 8.1% more than in 2021. the total result is determined mainly by the course of the deliveries on the domestic market, grown to 19.733 million euros, pairs to 14.7% in more regarding the year precedence; more contained it has turned out the increase of the export that is gone up, of 4.7% to 34,373 million euros.

The Italian consumption of machinery, also thanks to the incentive measures 4.0, was particularly lively: with a growth of 17.9% reached the value of 31,688 million euros, driving not only domestic deliveries but also import, which grew by 23.5%, to 11,955 million euros.

In 2023, the positive trend will continue, although growth will be more contained, thanks to the uncertainty affecting the entire international scenario.

In particular, sales will grow to 55,861 million euros, 3.2% more than in 2022. The same will be true of increases in other economic indicators.

Exports are expected to grow by 3%, to 35,395 million euros; domestic deliveries will rise to 20,466 million, 3.7% more than in 2022. Also the internal question will go up still (+3.1%) attesting itself to 32.679 million euros.
